• Everyone that participates and turns in a donation will receive a Smencil
• For every $10 donation the student turns in, they will receive a ticket for a weekly drawing for various small prizes like gift cards.
• The class in each grade with the most funds raised will earn a celebration at the end of the fundraiser.
• The top fundraiser in each school will earn a new bike and helmet donated by Patapsco Bikes (PARRS) or a Kindle (MAES).
• The school with the most funds raised with have bragging rights and the losing principal will come to school dressed hair to toe in the winning schools colors and have a pie thrown in her face.

Remember, before you can volunteer in any Carroll County Public School, you must first attend annual training. You must complete training AT LEAST SEVEN SCHOOL DAYS before you wish to volunteer. And please remember, you MUST renew your volunteer eligibility EVERY SCHOOL YEAR by attendng volunteer training. Training attended during the prior school year will expire on September 30, regardless of how late in the year you took the training. For additional information on volunteer training, contact Volunteer Coordinator Erica Zamensky.

Baking for sales is extra work.
Yet nobody really wants to shirk.

The “No-Bake Bake Sale” is to be the PTA’s ONLY annual school-wide fundraiser for the 2011-12 year.

Even though this fundraiser has a lighthearted name and theme, we are faced with the serious goal of sustaining school programs and staff support that would otherwise be cut due to budget reductions.

The MAES/Parr’s PTA August 2011 Newsletter (the “MAP”) has been published to help you get ready for the start of another exciting new school year   Please take a look and see what is happening and how you can help.  The newsletter also includes some information about our upcoming fundraising activities.

If you have something you would like to have included in the next PTA Newsletter, please contact PTA Vice President  Cheryl Pickard.

The deadline for including submissions in the newsletter is the typically the 20th of each month.

We are constantly striving to find new ways to reach out and interact with the PTA community and this is just another way.

While the new Middle School will be an exciting, welcome improvement for the education of our children, the construction will obviously have a direct impact on us for the next couple years.   This meeting should address construction plans as well as the impact on the existing schools in the immediate area.

You are encouraged to attend and stay abreast of the changes.

The schools ask that you please put your child’s name on all items except those intended for general classroom use.  Check with your child periodically throughout the year to see if any of their items need to be replaced

If you have ordered a school supply kit for you child, they have been delivered and will be available for pick-up in your child’s classroom during school Open House/Meet the Teacher events or at the beginning of school.

We are still working out the details, so look for updates on this coming soon!
