Welcome!
As the Mount Airy - Parr's Ridge Elementary School Parent/Teacher Association, we want to facilitate growth and education in our children and we know that a team effort can bring that about for everyone! Please feel free to browse the site and contact us if you have any questions.
Read our mission statement for more about what we do!
What Does It Mean to Become a PTA "Member"? As each new school year begins, the PTA asks all of the families to please join the PTA. Taking a few minutes to join the PTA simply means that you would like show your support for the schools and the PTA, and contribute a small donation to the cause. All that is required to join is a membership fee of $7 per year (per family) and to complete the Membership Form. That's it! There are no requirements for volunteering time or attending meetings. So, please join our PTA, and thanks for helping us support our wonderful schools!
Used Book Drive The PTA is collecting gently used books for our spring Used Book Sale. We will accept books for children or adults, paperback or hardback, fiction or non-fiction, textbooks, dictionaries, cookbooks, etc. Books are being collected through March and priced reasonably for our Used Book Sale in April. Unsold books will be donated to the School libraries and the Mount Airy branch of the Carroll County Library
Collection boxes are located at the front of both schools. On Saturday, March 27th, you can drop your books off in the parking lot of the Nottingham Pool from 9AM-12PM (rain or shine). If you have an "extensive library" to donate, please contact Jeni Hart (jenihart@comcast.net or 410-908-4913) to arrange pick up.
Music to Our Ears Music can be an important part of a child's education and the PTA wants to support the music program at our schools. Check out this List of Extracurricular Instrumental and Vocal Music Teachers in the region who are available for private lessons.
In order to generate more enthusiasm for our school music programs we may also consider helping to organize a music fair later this year - stay tuned for more information!
