The "No-Bake Bake Sale" - A New Approach to Fundraising
The "No-Bake Bake Sale" is to be the PTA's ONLY annual school-wide fundraiser for the 2011-12 year.
One of the problems with a traditional bake sale is that someone spends a lot of money on ingredients, energy, gas to deliver the items, not to mention the valuable time and effort to make something. Then someone else might pay to buy that item. And what they pay might not even cover the costs that were put into it!
We have frequently been asked "Why are we always being asked to buy overpriced items for fundraisers?" or "Why can't I just give you the money you'd make in profit instead of having to buy something I don't really need"
The No-Bake Bake sale is our answer to those questions.
We are not asking you to spend the time and money to bake a cake or a pie. We are not asking you to pay above market price for fundraiser items so the PTA can get a small percentage (and some fundraising company can also take a cut!)
Instead, we are simply asking for direct donations to support the PTA activities. Whether it's the equivalent of what you'd spend buying or making some baked goods, or how much you think you might spend on a fundraiser, or the value of something you might donate or buy at an auction, we just ask that you help us support the schools.
We ask that you reach out to others in your family and in the community. Whomever you might have solicited for a fundraiser, please reach out to them and explain our new approach.
Even though this fundraiser has a lighthearted name and theme, we are faced with the serious goal of sustaining school programs and staff support that would otherwise be cut due to budget reductions.
OUR GOAL: 1000 STUDENTS RAISING $50,000
100% PROFIT!
